5. Is this website useful for travelers over 50?
Yes! The site is especially helpful for 50+ travelers, offering practical tips, safety advice, comfort-focused suggestions, and realistic travel insights.
6. Does Michael travel solo?
Yes 🙁 Michael often travels solo and shares his honest experiences to help others feel more confident about taking their own solo adventures. DON’T WAIT for your partner, friend, cousin, neighbor, or whoever is holding you up for the “perfect” timing. Go now!
7. Are the articles based on real travel experiences?
Absolutely. All content is based on Michael’s own trips, mistakes, learnings, and personal stories—written with honesty and humor (well at least to me).
8. Does Michael promote or recommend products?
The Shopping section is always on the back burner, but someday it will get off my to-do list! But it will include only items, apps, clothes, and gear that Michael personally uses and recommends based on real travel experience. Many articles have links in them as well (though, as Amazon and others change their sites constantly, the links might not get you directly there. But don’t let that deter you. Search on their site for that item.)
9. Can I find travel planning tips on the website?
Yes. The Travel Tips section includes helpful advice on planning trips, packing, staying safe, saving money, and making the most of your travel experiences. Posts specifically about a city or country visit will also include travel tips that were (or would have been) helpful when visiting there.
10. Does Michael accept paid partnerships or sponsored travel?
No. Michael pays for his own trips, stays, and meals. His opinions are authentic and not influenced by sponsorships or influencers. Boy, does that sound highfalutin as people used to say?? Honestly, I am totally open to bribes and free stuff, but so far, no one is interested. That’s ok, it is nice to have integrity, even if it isn’t self-imposed.
11. How often is new content posted?
New travel articles, photos, and guides are added regularly (in a general sense of the word). Truth is, I find it difficult to write good articles while I am traveling, and I usually just concentrate on them when I am not. I do have a job that pays the bills (mostly) that I need to focus on as much as possible, but I will get better (I hope). Users can subscribe to the newsletter to get notified when new content goes live.
12. Can I subscribe to the newsletter?
Yes. You can subscribe via email to receive updates on new articles, travel tips, and photography additions. See caveat above for regularity.
13. Is Michael a full-time traveler?
He works remotely as a hybrid digital nomad, balancing client work with travel, allowing him to explore different places long-term. Currently, he is based in Southern Spain, and he has been focusing on traveling to Europe, Asia, and Africa. (weird to write about myself in the third person)
14. What type of traveler is this site best for?
Ideal for solo travelers, 50+ explorers, frugal travelers looking for value, culture enthusiasts, food and wine lovers, and those who want honest, practical travel insights. Don’t forget a sense of humor as well, it’s not that much fun without it!
15. Does Michael share photography from his travels?
Yes. The Gallery features beautiful travel photos from destinations such as Iguazu Falls, Provence, the Arctic Circle, Ireland, Budapest, and more. Most of the travel articles also feature my photos. If you use or want to use a photo, please give photo credit, if it isn’t to much of a PITA.
